Timeline View for Groups
Groups now have a new (optional) extension that we're calling Timelines. Timelines allow each group member to add a post and specify which time it is associated with. The new Timelines view will then show you everything associated with that same time all together.
Here at FWA, we are using this for everything from showing garden progress to playing video games together where every member of the group shares what their game looks like at the same point in time. It's kind of a "Let's play together" for people playing single player games but with each other. The sky's the limit though. Any time you want to track items by a user-specified time, you can probably use the new Timelines view display of what you want.
To get started with Timelines for your group, an Admin must simply go into the settings and enable it in the new "Add-ons" section. The Group Admin can also choose some settings for the timeline view their, like what exactly "Time" is called for this timeline. (For my Oxygen Not Include game group, we call it a Cycle). The Admin can also choose whether to make the Timeline view the default view when folks join the group or not.
